🚰 Complete Wudu Steps

8 steps arranged according to the Prophetic Sunnah (ears are part of the head)

Intention

Intention is in the heart, it is not prescribed to utter it

النية عمل قلبي لا لفظي - محلها القلب

Intention is in the heart, uttering it is an innovation

Obligation 📚 Agreed upon: "Actions are but by intentions"

Bismillah

It is recommended to say Bismillah at the beginning of Wudu

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ

In the name of Allah

Washing the Hands

Washing the hands three times before rinsing the mouth

يُسْتَحَبُّ غَسْلُ الْكَفَّيْنِ ثَلَاثًا

It is recommended to wash the hands three times

Rinsing the Mouth and Nose

Taking water into the mouth and nose then expelling it

الْمَضْمَضَةُ وَالِاسْتِنْشَاقُ

Washing the Face

Washing the face three times from the hairline to the chin

اغْسِلُوا وُجُوهَكُمْ

Wash your faces

Washing the arms up to the elbows three times

وَأَيْدِيَكُمْ إِلَى الْمَرَافِقِ

And your arms up to the elbows

Wiping the Head and Ears

Wiping the head once, including the ears (ears are part of the head)

وَامْسَحُوا بِرُءُوسِكُمْ - الْأُذُنَانِ مِنَ الرَّأْسِ

And wipe over your heads - the ears are part of the head

Washing the Feet

Washing the feet up to the ankles three times

وَأَرْجُلَكُمْ إِلَى الْكَعْبَيْنِ

And your feet up to the ankles

Before Wudu

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ

In the name of Allah

Saying Bismillah is a Sunnah at the beginning of Wudu

اللهُ أَكْبَرُ

Allah is the Greatest

Standing

Standing in prayer for those able to do so

وَقُومُوا لِلَّهِ قَانِتِينَ

And stand before Allah, devoutly obedient

Reciting Al-Fatihah

Reciting Surah Al-Fatihah in every rak'ah

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds

Bowing

Bowing while glorifying Allah

سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْعَظِيمِ

Glory be to my Lord, the Most Great

Rising from Bowing

Rising from bowing and standing upright

سَمِعَ اللهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ

Allah hears those who praise Him

Prostration

Prostrating on seven body parts

سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْأَعْلَى

Glory be to my Lord, the Most High

Allah is the Greatest, abundantly, and praise be to Allah, abundantly, and glory be to Allah, morning and evening

التَّحِيَّاتُ لِلَّهِ وَالصَّلَوَاتُ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ، السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ، السَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى عِبَادِ اللهِ الصَّالِحِينَ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ

All greetings, prayers, and good things are for Allah. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.

First and final Tashahhud

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ

O Allah, send prayers upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent prayers upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ (ثَلاثًا)، اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلَامُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلَامُ، تَبَارَكْتَ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ

I seek forgiveness from Allah (3 times), O Allah, You are Peace and from You is peace, blessed are You, O Possessor of majesty and honor

Seeking forgiveness after taslim

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

There is no god but Allah, alone, without partner. To Him belongs sovereignty and to Him belongs praise, and He is over all things competent.
