1 Intention (Niyyah)

2 Saying Bismillah

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ

In the name of Allah

Saying Bismillah is a Sunnah according to the majority of scholars.

Say "Bismillah" before starting ablution, and remember that every action not started with Bismillah is cut off.

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ: "أَلَا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى مَا يَمْحُو اللَّهُ بِهِ الْخَطَايَا وَيَرْفَعُ بِهِ الدَّرَجَاتِ؟" قَالُوا: بَلَى يَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ. قَالَ: "إِسْبَاغُ الْوُضُوءِ عَلَى الْمَكَارِهِ..."

Light on the Day of Resurrection

The limbs will shine on the Day of Resurrection from the traces of ablution

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ: "إِنَّ أُمَّتِي يُدْعَوْنَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ غُرًّا مُحَجَّلِينَ مِنْ آثَارِ الْوُضُوءِ"
